Red Wine Cake
Ingredients:
100 gm (1/2 cup) Butter
50 gm (1/4 cup) Sugar
2 tsp Vanilla Essence
1 tbsp Rum
2 medium Eggs
100 gm (1 cup) All purpose Flour
1 tsp Cocoa powder
1/2 tsp Cinnamon Powder
1 1/4 tsp Baking Powder
50 gm (1/2 cup) Grated Chocolate
2 tbsp Almonds
50 ml (1/4 cup) Red Wine
Method:
Grease and flour the cake tin.
Preheat the oven at 180 degrees.
Peel and chop the almonds.
Whisk Butter until soft add sugar into it and beat well.
Add the Vanilla essence, rum and whisk well.
Now whisk in egg one at a time and beat well till you get the smooth mixture.
Sieve all the dry ingredients Flour, Cocoa, Cinnamon and Baking Powder.
Add all the dry ingredients into the butter mixture.
Then quickly whisk in grated chocolate, almonds and red wine. Beat well till the mixture is well mixed.
Transfer the mixture into the Cake tin.
Bake for 40 minutes or till done.
Leave the cake in the tin for about 10 minutes , then take it out and let it cool on a rack.
