White sauce pasta | Alfredo Pasta
Ingredients:
For Pasta:
- 1 cup Pasta
- 4 -5 cups Water
- 1 tsp Salt
For Veggies:
- 1 tbsp Olive Oil
- 1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
- 1/2 cup Mushrooms
- 1/2 cup Yellow / Red Bell Peppers
- 1 Jalapeno
- 1 tsp Red Chilli Flakes
- 1/2 tsp Mixed Herbs
- 1/2 tsp Oregano
For White Sauce
- 1 tbsp Butter
- 1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
- 2 tbsp All Purpose Flour
- 2 Cups Milk
- 2 Cheese Slices
- 1 tsp White Pepper Powder
- 1/2 tsp Oregano
- 1/2 tsp Mixed Herbs
Method:
- Boil raw pasta according to the instructions given on the package or follow following instructions.
- Take 4-5 cups water in deep sauce pan, bring it to boil over medium flame. When it start boiling, add salt again boil when water reaches full rolling boil add pasta.
- Boil them until al-dente (cooked but not very soft). It will take around 10-12 minutes. To check whether pasta is cooked or not, take one pasta in a fork and bite it. If it is little firm to bite, it is cooked. If it is too hard to bite, it requires more cooking.
- Transfer cooked pasta to a large colander and drain excess water. Keep aside.
- While pasta is cooking, heat oil in a pan or kadai over high flame. Add garlic powder, mushrooms, chopped Bellpeppers , jalapeno and vegetables of your choice.
- Saute for 2 minutes. Add Red Chilli Flakes, Mixed Herbs, oregano . Mix well and keep aside.
- For White Sauce
- In a pan add 1 tbsp butter, garlic powder and All Purpose Flour.
- Stir continuously and cook for a minute.
- Pour milk little by little while stirring continuously with a whisk.
- Reduce flame to low. Continue stirring and cooking until mixture starts to thicken. It will take around 3-4 minutes depending on the size and thickness of the pan. When mixture starts to coat the back of a spoon it means that it has started to thicken.
- Add white pepper, oregano, mixed herbs and salt.
- Add 2 Cheese Slices.Mix well. Add sauteed vegetables.
- Keep a little sauce aside and add boiled pasta.
- Turn off the flame. Mix well.
- Transfer it to a serving plate. Pour extra sauce if you want.
- White sauce pasta is now ready.
- Garnish it with vegetables, olives, grated cheese and serve while they are still hot.
