Sabudana Vrat Ka Namkeen / Falahari
Ingredients:
1 cup Sago (sabudana)
2 small Potatoes
1/2 up Peanuts
1/4 cup Almonds
1 tbsp Coconut - cut into thin slice
1/2 tsp Sendha salt
1/2 tsp Black pepper
1/2 tsp Powdered Sugar
1/4 cup Raisins( Kishmish)
2 tbsp Makhanas
Refined oil or ghee - to fry
Method:
Wash and peel potato and grate it with a thick grater. Or you can cut them into slices and then cut into julians.
Soaked the grated potatoes in cold water. Take the muslin cloth and squeeze it well.
Now spread it on a kitchen towel and pat dry with another towel.
Clean the peanuts and keep them in another small bowl.
Heat oil in a pan over high heat.
Once the oil heats up well then put 1-2 tbsp sago pearls into it. Keep the flame low.
After few minutes sago pearls will get puffed up and starts rising. Stir with the ladle and let them cook for 2-3 minutes.
After around 5 minutes, sago pearls will get cooked through. Once all the sago rises take them out on a plate.
Break and eat the sago to check whether they are properly cooked from the core also. Put the remaining sago and fry them in the same way.
Now add peanuts into the same oil and fry them on low flame as well. Stir them continuously till they turn light brown in color.
Peanuts have turned brown in color. Transfer it to plate.
Fry the almonds and coconut slices as well in the same oil until they turn nice brown in color. Take them out in the same plate with peanuts.
Now fry the grated potatoes or potato julians till crispy.
Now fry Makhanas till done.
Take a big mixing bowl and add fried sago pearls along with fried peanuts, almonds, coconut slices, Makhanas and fried potatoes.
Then add sendha salt , Powdered sugar, black pepper and raisins into the mixture. Mix everything well together.
Sagoo Namkeen is ready to serve.
