Recipe
Hot and Sour Soup
Ingredients:
2 tbsp Oil
1-2 Beans, finely chopped
2-3 Mushrooms, thinly sliced
1/2 cup Cabbage, finely chopped
1/2 cup Carrot, finely chopped
2 Vegetable cubes
2 tbsp Tomato Ketchup
1 tbsp Hot & Sweet Ketchup
1 tsp Sugar
1 tsp Red chilli Sauce
1 1/4 tsp Salt
1/2 tsp Black Pepper
2 tbsp Dark soya sauce
1 1/2 tbsp Vinegar
1/2 tsp Garlic, finely chopped
1/2 tsp Ginger, finely chopped
1 small Onion
6 tbsp Cornstarch (mixed with 1/2 cup water)
onion greens to garnish
Method:
Heat oil add onion,garlic and ginger and saute for 2 minutes.
Now add all the vegetables and cook for two minutes. Add red chilli sauce and cook for another 2-3 minutes on high flame.
Add sugar, salt, black pepper, soya sauce, vinegar and tomato ketchup and hot & sweet ketchup.
Now add 6 cups of water with soup cubes.
Add cornstarch paste and stir continuously for 2-3 minutes till the soup is thick.
Taste salt and seasoning (Keep a check on salt as soya sauce already has lots of salt).
Serve hot garnished with onion greens.
